Be the Peace - Be the Hope (International Art Project)
Globally, an estimated 8 million children are living in camps after being separated from home and family without expectations for a safe return.
The “Be the Peace- Be the Hope” program invites you to join the schools and communities in Houston (such as the UNA-USA, HISD, City of Houston, FotoFest and many others) to share the spirit of hope, peace and mutual concern with children in refugee camps.
The program will host 2 workshops for participating youth (age7-18) in Taiwanese school. The workshop will provide video, instruction and art supply for the participating youth to create work of art that convey the message of peace and hope on a piece of canvas.
The program will collect hundreds of such canvas from participating schools and deliver them to the refugee camp in Africa. The process will be documented on a film and put on a display in city hall during Houston’s annual citizenship month in November 2016.
Cost: Workshop is free.
